Vessel Safety Checks

VSCs are available during the summer season by members of the local ODNR Division of Watercraft or the Mansfield Power Squadron. ODNR rangers are usually on the lake in
their boats or at the Pleasant Hill Marina. Mansfield Power Squadron members can usually be found around the public boat ramp. All VSCs are free to anyone.

A safety check takes about 5-10 minutes.  You will need to have your CURRENT BOAT REGISTRATION paperwork with you. No exceptions.  If you pass, you will receive a US Coast Guard Decal. You can go to the following websites to find out what you are required to have on your vessel. One is a virtual safety check:  http://vdept.cgaux.org/vve/launch.htm , and the other one is a list of items: http://www.cgaux.org/vsc/  Below is a YouTube video on vessel safety inspections.
