Pleasant Hill Boat Club By-Laws

ARTICLE 1 MEMBERSHIP
1. There will be an entrance fee for all new members.
2. The membership dues of the Club shall be payable January 1st, through March 1st. Membership dues shall be used by the Club for expense money such as, correspondence, meetings, and other expenses. No elected officer of this Club shall draw a salary of any kind, except the Secretary/Treasurer who may be compensated as the board sees fit.
3. Members are responsible for three (3) workdays. Two (2) of which will be dock in and dock out day, the third (3) is an elective job/task to be signed up for. Non-participation in dock days will result in a $50 fee per dock day. Failure to sign up for a workday will result in a $100 fee. Club participation as an Officer or Board Member fulfills the third workday requirement.
4. Membership shall be considered terminated if dues are not paid by the deadline. Except for good cause as determined by the Board, failure to pay required dues by April 1 without due cause may result in the reassignment of the members dock space by the Board of Directors. Applicants seeking reinstatement within 90 days of termination of their membership may retain their seniority on the dock waiting list upon payment of a 10% of dues reinstatement fee. Reinstatements after 90 days do not retain seniority.
5. Applicants for membership; shall agree to abide by the rules of the Club and the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District Board.
6. Club membership shall be limited to one hundred and twenty five (125) members. No new members will be accepted until the active membership drops below one hundred and twenty five (125).
7. One (1) vote per membership is allowed.
8. In the event of vacant dock spaces, any member accepted into the Club after August 15th of a membership year shall be assessed at 50% annual dues.
ARTICLE 2 FUNDS
1. All funds of the Club shall be deposited by the Secretary/Treasurer in the name of the Pleasant Hill Boat Club, Inc., in such banks as designated by the Board of Directors. All disbursements from the funds of this Club shall be by check draw by its Treasurer, upon its deposit account, after such payments have been approved by the Board of Directors and Commodore. In case of emergency, or for normal club maintenance supplies, the Secretary/Treasurer may make disbursements not in excess of $500 without order of the Board of Directors.
2. An audit of the financial transactions of the club shall be made each year by a committee designated by the Board of Directors. The Secretary/Treasurer and others having books of accounts shall submit them to such audits.
ARTICLE 3 AMENDMENTS
1. These By-Laws may be amended at any time by a two-thirds (2/3) affirmative vote of the Board of Directors, or by a vote of the membership of the Club.
2. The Chairman may limit individual discussion to five (5) minutes.
3. The Board of Directors shall have the authority to revoke the membership of any member who knowingly violates this Constitution or other rules and regulations set up by the Board.
DRIVING RULES
1. Vehicle speed limit on Club grounds is 10 MPH.
2. Boats in the docking channel are limited to NO WAKE.
SPOUSES OF DECEASED MEMBERS
Spouses of deceased members may assume the existing membership and seniority by continuing to pay club dues, annually.
HONORARY MEMBERS
Honorary members are chosen by the Board of Directors. These selections are based on the person being a retiree, and their past service to the Club. Possible candidates for honorary membership are reviewed two (2) times per year.
