July Newsletter
Dear Boaters, July 13th, 2012
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. We had our first board meeting in a couple months last Friday and have a few items of note to share.
We have decided to have another hog roast party this summer. The party will be August 4th starting at 6:00pm. This year the party will be free to all members. Please bring a covered dish to share and whatever you want to drink. Also if anyone has corn hole boards, please bring them. If you plan on attending please contact us with an approximate number so we can figure out how big of hog we need to order. Hope to see you there.
One of the main topics of discussion was the situation with the dumpster. We currently have the dumpster emptied every other week. We are going to start emptying it weekly (approximately $300.00 more per year). We believe people other than boat club members are dumping their trash in our dumpster, but do not have a good way of controlling this issue. If you see someone dumping their trash who you suspect is not a member, please say something to them. Also if the dumpster is full, please do not pile trash on top. The animals get into it and make a mess. If it is full, please take your trash home with you.
Special thanks to Tom Weidinger for his work on the swim platform. With the help of Dave Oswalt and Mark Snyder the platform looks great.
I couple of reminders as well.
Please lock the gate when entering or leaving the club. Remember to lock the gate lock to lock.
When parking for the day, please remember we need to park all vehicles behind the wooden posts in the lower field. These posts are 100 feet from the shore and represent our lease boundary. Our lease requires we park behind these posts.
Also as a reminder to all in the water pontoon and power boat owners, the area in front of your boat is yours to maintain. Please keep it weed eaten. It is too much to ask mowing committee members to keep this area maintained.
On a sad note long time member Ron Lozier has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family.
Hope to see you at the party.
Thanks,
Kevin Hardesty, Commodore
