Hello Boat Club Members,
On April 13, 2012 we had our monthly board meeting. At this meeting we discussed numerous club issues. Most issues revolved around dock in day. The following list is a highlight of those issues.
1. Dock day will be on Sunday May 6nd, 2012. Dock day will begin at 8:30am for members who have yet to pay dues and fines. Pat and myself will be at the clubhouse at 8:30am to collect any past due fees and fines.
2. All boat stickers will also be issued at this time. This includes all dry dock and in the water stickers. We are doing this before the meeting to help speed up the process. If you want to put your boat into the water prior to dock in day, please contact Pat Ousley to get your sticker.
3. For all members who are current with dues and fines, the meeting will begin at 9:00am.
4. We will not be issuing or re-cutting new keys this year. Please reuse your keys from last year. We will have extra keys at the meeting for anyone who needs additional keys.
5. As always any member who does not attend dock in day will be fined $50.00. The board will determine what is considered an allowable excuse for missing dock day. Please notify Wayne or myself in advance if you are unable to attend dock in day.
6. We have several tasks scheduled for this year’s dock in day that are outside the normal duties we perform. We will ask for volunteers for these additional tasks. If no one volunteers, I will appoint people to do them. Some of the tasks include: Some brush and tree removal. We have attained permits for this work. Please bring chainsaws and protective gear. Some of the brush is briars so plan accordingly. We also will need to repair the fence between us and the campground after the trees are cleared. We will also spend some time on repairing the swim platform. Please bring any tools that you feel may be helpful. Again volunteers for these additional duties would be appreciated.
7. We will also be asking for additional volunteers for the mowing committee. If we can get a few more volunteers everyone will only have to mow once per summer. Please consider volunteering when asked at dock in day.
8. Laura will be sending out dock repair sheets from dock out day in the fall. Please make sure repairs are made prior to dock in day. Power boat docks will not be put in the water until the listed repairs are made.
We do have one pontoon spot in the water available. We are offering the spot to existing members first. If we don’t hear from an existing member by dock in day we will allow a new member the opportunity to join the club and take the spot.
Thanks to the people for getting their dues in on time. It makes the paper work considerably easier.
If you plan on eating after dock day, the club will supply sandwiches, but please bring something else to share.
Thanks to Jim Pritchard for donating and installing the new toilet in the ladies restroom.
See you on dock day.
Thanks, Kevin Hardesty, Commodore
